Furniture Information from BT Office

System ranges of furniture have 25mm thick melamine faced chipboard desktops that are available in a variety or colour options; oak, beech, maple, ash, cherry, wengue, walnut, sapele or elm. System ranges invariably have an element of cable management. i.e. a system built into the desk to allow the smooth installation of I.T. equipment. The cable management systems vary in style but generally consist of horizontal trays under the desk top and vertical channels located inside the structural legs of each desk. Some system ranges have the ability to share legs between desks, allowing for a reduction in the components required and for cables to be passed between the desks. All styles of office furniture have cable ports situated in the corner of the desk tops to allow for computer cables to be passed through to the underside of the desks.

Each economy or systems style of office desk will have a personal storage unit which is sometime called a pedestal storage unit. Pedestal drawer units come in different configurations; 2, 3 or 4 drawer versions. Each range of office furniture builds its drawer units in different ways. Economy ranges of office furniture usually have personal storage units where the drawers will be constructed from melamine, which run on ball bearing drawer runners. Systems ranges of furniture have drawer units where the drawers are usually constructed from steel and are therefore stronger that those used in the economy ranges of office furniture.

The Kassini range of systems office furniture is regarded as being environmentally friendly. The whole of the cable managed under frame and leg structure of the desk is constructed from extruded aluminium instead of steel which would usually be the case. It is becoming increasing important for companies to comply with environmental demands placed upon them. The office furniture industry is going to be required to change a lot of the materials currently used in order to comply.

All desks can be separated by office screens. Office screens are generally upholstered in a number of different coloured fabrics, usually to match or compliment the client’s range of office chairs. Office screens are sometimes called office partitions. Desk mounted office screens can also have a toolbar fitted to allow a flat screen computer monitor to be attached to the screen.

BT Office supplies a large number of executive ranges of furniture. Most executive office furniture ranges are constructed from a selection of real wood veneers or glass. Executive office furniture ranges fall into two styles, modern or traditional. Our most popular modern executive furniture ranges are imported from Italy and have been designed by top European Architects and designers. These executive ranges are available in maple, walnut or juniper real wood veneers or satin glass finish. The traditional style of executive office furniture is manufactured in England. We also supply reproduction style executive desks with leather inserts in the desk top.

Some of our most popular office products are reception counters. BT Office has a large portfolio of reception counter styles. Reception counters can be supplied with the client’s logo or corporate identity incorporated either on a separate fixed panel or etched into a glass up-stand. A lot of our reception counters also incorporate integrated lighting. Most reception counters are constructed as standard with either a recessed or front fixed kick plate to protect the facia of the reception desk. Most of our clients appreciate the need for an impressive reception counter to create the correct image and first impression.

Reception seating is another important part of BT Office Furniture’s collection of products. Reception sofas can be vibrant in their design and upholstery or more classical in style. The more classical styles are based on designs by architects and designers such as Le Corbusier or Charles Eames, these ranges are usually designed using black leather with chrome frame construction. Modular reception sofas are also very popular as they can provide a lot of different configurations without the need to buy more products. Tub style chairs are becoming a favourite also. Based on chairs more commonly found in hotel receptions, the curved designed of the Tub chair breaks up a reception area and provide a very relaxed look.
